Bio

Dr. Saule Maciukaite-Zviniene is a Professor of Innovation and Knowledge Transfer at Vilnius University and Head of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Development. She holds a Ph.D. in Social Sciences. With more than 20 years of experience across academia and government, she has held senior leadership positions in both sectors. From 2014 to 2019, she served as Adviser to the President of the Republic of Lithuania. Prior to that, she was Head of Unit at the Government Strategic Analysis Center. Her academic career spans universities and research institutes in Lithuania and internationally. Dr. Maciukaite-Zviniene is currently a Member of the Research Council of Lithuania, Chair of the National Education Council, and Co-Chair of the CERN–Lithuania Committee. She is also a European Commission expert in science in society, ethics of technology, education, and responsible research and innovation, and an OECD expert for research security and integrity. She has advised several EU neighboring countries on research, innovation, and education system reforms. She is the author of numerous research articles, books, and high-level policy papers, and has coordinated a number international research projects, and is also affiliated with international think tanks.
